Good news: It really isn't that complicated. When we come to your home for an installation, your countertops are already cut to your specifications and polished. We do all the fabrication work in our shop prior to the installation day itself, so there will be no cutting the stone in your kitchen, or even dust in your living room! Everything is pre-cut to your exact measurements. Installation generally happens the way you see below: - We put down floor protection and cabinet coverage. - We dry fit all the pieces to confirm the placement of seams. - Minor on-site adjustments if necessary. - Adhesive is used to install the slab along with a seam bonding process to complete. - Openings for your sink and cooktop are cut, and then the fixtures are set. - We complete final clean up before you walk away. We do not leave until we complete a final walkthrough with you. Most countertop installers can do an installation for El Paso homeowners in one day. We have been installing countertops in El Paso homes since 1985, and the smoothest experiences come from homeowners who simply take the time 30 minutes the evening before to get things ready. First, remove any and all appliances or accessories from your old countertops; we are talking about your dish drainer, knife rack, and all those coffee makers or food processors that have not left the countertop in years. I am a huge dog fan, but the combo of an open entryway and a heavy granite slab may not work out well. - Park your vehicles so that our truck has a short path to your home. The shorter the path we carry stone, the better. 9 times out of 10, homeowners who take the time the evening before to prepare their homes end up with an installation that is an hour shorter or more than it could have been if they do not take the time to do so. It is a fact. One other thing people do not always remember. We do do trimming, cutting or fitting when needed, and that does kick up some dust, so, if you have a computer, or home office nearby, or just sensitive items, cover or close off any items that we will be cutting and that do not need to be exposed to the dust. We carry our own equipment and we can clean up, but just do whatever you can to cover or block those items from any dust.
